Evoy's Forge is located near Old Ross off the N25 between New Ross and Wexford Town
Photographs of some of the main monuments and memorials to the 1798 Rebellion in County Wexford, Ireland The 1798 Rebellion was country wide but only County Wexford managed to succeed in the fight against British rule in Ireland. Wexford formed a Republic between 1st June 1798 and 21st June 1798 when the rebels were then defeated and British rule was again established.
Nice shots of Evoy's Forge, which I visited today (not for the first time). Failed to find Scullaboge, despite following a sign apast the forge, when two roadside men said it was back the way we had come. Gave up in the end. Am familiar with the great ballad - 'Ballyshannon Lane'.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your research and post about Evoy's forge! I am an Evoy and my uncle has done a lot of research of our family and came across this and shared it with us. I hope I'll have a chance to visit the forge some day. My daughter and her husband were there a few years ago and met the Evoys there.
ReplyDeleteI have two interior shots somewhere!!!
